Donna Trejo, Principal
Donna Trejo began working at Primary Plus Elementary School in the spring of 2019 as the Vice Principal with over fourteen years of teaching experience. Donna holds a BA Degree in Liberal Studies and a MA Degree in Special Education from Santa Clara University. She also has a Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Donna believes in educating the whole child and is always looking for ways to enrich the school experiences of all of the children and their families.
Katheryn Muniz, Preschool Director
Katheryn began working for Action Day Primary Plus in July 2017. She started off as a 2s teacher in Amber Preschool. Over time, she took on more roles including Head Teacher, Office Assistant, and Assistant Preschool Director. In the summer of 2022, she stepped into the role of Preschool Director. Katheryn has an Associate’s Degree in Child Development with a specialization in program management as well as a Site Supervisor permit. Katheryn believes in providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children while giving them the freedom to express themselves. In her free time, she loves going to hockey games with her husband and spending time with her two rabbits.
Amber School History
Amber Preschool program provides an educational setting for kids ages 2 to 4.5 years, staffed with warm, personally interested adults who give the students the message that learning is exciting and important. The teachers attempt to establish a learning environment that will allow the children to experience the maximum amount of success possible. Children that move through classes up to Jr.Kindergarten stay with us at the same location to begin their Elementary School journey.
In July, 1979, Primary Plus opened its doors for elementary school-age children at 3500 Amber Drive. Primary Plus is a preschool and elementary school with grades kindergarten through fourth. The school provides an educational setting that is staffed with warm, personally interested adults who give the students the message that learning is exciting and important. The teachers attempt to establish a learning environment that will allow the children to experience the maximum amount of success possible. Class sizes are small which allows for a great deal of teacher-student interaction.
The Primary Plus program includes both academic day classes and extended day care. Physical education, and computer classes are part of the everyday elementary curriculum. A large variety of enrichment programs complete the outstanding student offerings. Students can enroll in dance, karate, music, art, computer, tennis, swimming, golf and a wide range of sports activities. There are team sports available in soccer, basketball, baseball and street hockey for both girls and boys. Many of the students take part in the annual dance production at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts.
