Message from our founder
The 2018 school year is especially happy for us because this begins our fiftieth year of providing services for young children. Our schools’ doors opened in 1968 because of the desire to experience first-hand the marvelous thrills and excitement in the world of children. Much like watching a child grow and develop, we had no idea of how our programs would evolve. Our intention was to meet the growing needs of families by integrating daycare and preschool into one program, something that seemed a bit radical back then.
Many staff members, parents of children enrolled, and friends have asked how our schools grew to their present number. We began with 30 children enrolled in one preschool. Presently, we have an enrollment of about 4500 children in 10 locations within 19 different programs. Our programs include infant centers, preschools, an elementary school, and a middle school. We are the only organization in Northern California providing private education and daycare for children from three months to 12 years of age. Our dance program, West Valley Dance Company, has grown to include over 3100 dancers within our school dance classes and 3 stand-alone dance studios, as well as an award-winning competition team and performance team. In addition to our dance classes, we offer a wide variety of enrichment programs to our students including sports and various specialty camps. We take pride in the knowledge that our schools and programs have helped foster a sense of community and provided the foundation for the building of many lasting friendships over the years.
The growth of our programs has come in response to student and parent suggestions and direction. We appreciate the contributions of each and every one. The many stories involved with each person contribute to our many fond memories. We look forward to adding all of the events planned for the upcoming school year to our album of experiences.
