1. Where are you from?
I am from San Jose, California.
2. How long have you been with ADPP?
I have been here for 13 years this May.
3. What is your teaching background and experience?
I have been working with children for the last 20 years.
4. What do you like most about your job?
I love that I can go visit with all ages from infant to school age.
5. What do you think is special about your ADPP location?
Our families are amazing! We have such a strong connection with them.
6. What is your favorite part of the day at ADPP?
Outside time is my favorite part of the day. You can participate in great
activities or go for walks and enjoy our weather.
7. What is the last book you read out loud?
Ladybug Girl
8. What is the last book you read to yourself?
The Year of Fog by Michelle Richmond. I’m always reading something.
9. What is the funniest thing a child has said/done in
your class?
One of the kids told his mom, “That’s Ms. Mandy…she’s kinda a big deal you
know.”
10. What do you do in your spare time?
I spend a lot of time outside with my two kids. We camp, boat and ride dirt
bikes.
11. What achievement are you most proud of?
I am most proud of opening the Allen location.
12. What should children look forward to doing/learning
at Allen?
We’re getting ready for the big egg drop in Jr-K. Kids create a container
for a raw egg that will stop it from breaking when we drop them off the
roof. I climb up on the roof and all the kids get really excited.
13. What is the single best piece of advice you can give
parents?
Enjoy the moment. Sometimes as parents we look ahead for what’s coming
rather than what is happening.
14. Do you have any healthy lunch tips?
We love fresh berries with vanilla yogurt and granola.
