A native speaker from Mexico holds a MA in Spanish Literature from SJSU, a
BA in French, studied in Laval University in Quebec, Canada, a BA in Foreign
Trade from the International Graduate School of Management in Glendale,
Arizona. Mrs. Johnson has taught all levels of Spanish at Middle and High
Schools, Community Colleges and at San Jose State University. Mrs. Johnson
also holds a Court Interpreter certificate from the USC extension; a Family
Wellness certificate from the Family Wellness Institute in Santa Cruz; a
certificate from The Parent Project Institute and a certificate in
Gerontology from SJSU. Mrs. Johnson volunteers at the Plaza Comunitaria, a
program sponsored by the Mexican Consulate in partnership with San Jose
Unified School District teaching literacy to Hispanic adults.
Goals for the school year: To have students achieve basic vocabulary;
Idiomatic expressions, grammar and knowledge of the culture (Spanish
speaking world).
Special Interests and Hobbies:
Mrs. Johnson enjoys learning languages, reading and music.
