1. Where are you from?
I am from a town called Zicuiran Michoacan in Mexico. I came to the US when I was 13 years old. I was raised in Los Angeles but I moved to San Jose and I am very happy living here.
2. How long have you been with ADNPP?
I have been with ADPP for seven years.
3. What is your teaching background and experience?
I have my degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working with preschoolers for seven years. I also helped at the Estrella Family Center before getting my degree on Early Childhood Education.
4. What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy talking with the children. Its not just about teaching them. I am also learning from them. Moreover, I love at the end of the year when you see the difference you made as a teacher to the children.
5. What do you think is special about your ADPP location?
I believe that ADPP is like my second family. I enjoy coming to work everyday with the same enthusiasm. I also get along with all my co-workers. Were always willing to work together to make the lives of the children better.
6. What is your favorite part of the day at ADPP?
I enjoy the whole day. Each part of the day such as doing art, doing circle time, helping the children with our academics, or watching them play together without worrying how the other child looks is special.

The last book that I read out loud is Community Helpers.

10. What achievement are you most proud of?
I am very proud that I graduated from San Jose City College and got my AS Degree in ECE.
11. What should children look forward to doing/learning in kindergarten?
Children should learn how to recognize and write all the letters and numbers. They will also learn how to solve problems and master their large and small motor skills. It is important that we also teach them how to be respectful and to use the magic words Please and Thank You. They will also learn how to write and spell their name, know their birthdays, phone numbers, and their address.
12. What is the single best piece of advice you can give parents of kindergartners?
The best piece of advice that I can give parents is to listen to them all the time, even if you are coming home from work and are very tired. You, as a parent, should always leave some time to listen and help your children at all times.
13. Do you have any healthy lunch ideas?
Always remember to pack some fresh fruit.
14. Do you have any learning to read tips or other useful tips about learning a new
language?
I believe that the best time to learn another language is when the child is young. Repeating the words in English and Spanish is helpful too so that they start to sound familiar.
