Where are you (parents) from originally?
My husband and I were raised in Southern CA.
How long have you lived in the area?
We have lived in the San Jose area since the early 80’s.
What are the ages/grades of your children?
Tom is in 9th grade and Erin is in 6th grade at West Valley Middle School.
How long have you been with ADNPP?
Tom started in 1994 when he was 3 months old and Erin started in 1997 when
she was 3 months old. They both attended Moorpark, then Amber and West
Valley Middle School.
What do you think is special about your ADNPP location?
There are many benefits at West Valley but the main benefit is the close
relationship between the teachers and the students.
What is your child’s favorite part of the day at ADNPP?
Erin likes all of her classes!
What is the last book you read to your kids?
They are both avid readers. Most of the time Erin is ‘lost’ in a book.
What does your family like to do in your spare time/weekends?
We are on the soccer fields most weekends.
What activities/programs are you and your kids involved in?
Erin participates in girls volleyball and basketball. She is also in choir.
I am involved in the Community Club.
What is the single best piece of advice you can give other parents?
Have patience!
What is your favorite family restaurant?
Fresh Choice
What is your child’s favorite meal?
As they have gotten older, their pallet has developed and both love tri tip.
Do you have any favorite activities around the area?
Mainly, we are on the soccer field but enjoy the Tech Museum as a family
outing.
Do you have any family traditions that you’d like to share?
We have Friday night pizza with close friends.
What is your child’s favorite holiday? Why?
They love Christmas for the family time (and the gifts.)
Do you have any discipline tips?
Be firm when you draw a line in the sand.
Do you have any healthy eating tips such as healthy meals that kids like?
My kids love baby carrots.
Do you have tips for favorite activities?
We love to camp. They have been exposed to all kinds of natural beauty so
hopefully they will grow up to be kind to our planet.
