Technology Goals and Objectives

September - December

Kindergarten – Computer basics – turning on the computer, naming the computer parts, using the mouse, closing the program properly, introduction to the internet and typing first name.

First Grade – Computer basics- turning on the computer, naming the parts, using the mouse, using the CD-Rom, Using an Icon, Opening and closing a program, using the Internet, beginning typing.

Second Grade – Computer basics - turning on the computer, naming the parts, using the mouse, using the CD-Rom, Using an Icon, Opening and closing a program, Creating a file and opening and saving a file, Internet search, beginning typing.

Third Grade – Computer basics - turning on the computer, naming the parts, using the mouse, using the CD-Rom, Using an Icon, opening and closing a program ,creating a file, opening and saving a file, using the tool bar, Internet webquests, beginning typing.

Fourth Grade – Computer basics - turning on the computer, naming the parts, using the mouse, using the CD-Rom, Using a tool bar, opening and closing a program, opening and saving a file, adding graphics, Internet webquests, beginning typing.

December - March

Kindergarten – Computer basics, using a CD-Rom, creating a document, using the tool bar, using the Internet and typing in a URL.

First Grade – Computer basics- and creating a document/file, using the tool bar (resizing, coloring, moving text, etc.) saving a file, Internet search, typing practice.

Second Grade – Computer basics and adding clip art, (resizing, adding word art) saving the document to a floppy/CD-Rom, webquests, typing, introduction to Spreadsheets.

Third Grade – Computer basics and creating a word document, adding clip art, saving the document and writing up a report for class ,Internet work, typing, spreadsheets.

Fourth Grade – Computer basics and creating a word document, adding clip art and word art, saving the document and writing up a report for class, Internet work, typing, spreadsheets and Power Point.

March - June

Kindergarten – Review computer basics and using a CD-Rom, creating a document, using the tool bar to resize, change color and change font, Internet activities, typing projects (spelling etc.).

First Grade –  Computer basics- and creating a document, using the tool bar (resizing, coloring, moving text, etc.) , writing up a class work such as spelling or journal work, Internet work.

Second Grade – Computer basics and creating a word document, using the tool bar, adding clip art (resizing, adding word art) using this information to create a short report for class, saving the document to a floppy/CD-Rom, typing projects, Internet work.

Third Grade – Computer basics and creating a word document, adding clip art, saving the document and writing up a report for class, Internet webquests and searches for projects.

Fourth Grade –  Computer basics and creating a word document, adding clip art and word art, using the tool bar, typing projects and tests, Power Point, webquests and web searches for class projects.
