Conversation is key in Mrs.
Johnson’s Spanish class. Students in Mrs. Johnson’s class
learn verbs and common nouns in Spanish I, so that they can
do what they love best, talk! Mrs. Johnson’s class is
characterized by oral dictations, student conversations and
frequent presentations. Viva Espanol! |

Mrs. Sanford combines rigorous
academic expectations with a fun, student-centered approach
to learning. Students leave her class well-equipped to
manage their workload independently and are well prepared
for the transition to middle school.

No one brings
more passion or excitement to the field of Lego Robotics
than Ms. Dewey-Hoffman. Students enjoy building robots and
having the opportunity to program them in preparation for
this year’s Robotics competition. Good luck Wildcats! |
With an extensive history of
stage management, Mrs. Hawkins is able to help students
overcome their fears and share their talents on stage! Last
year’s production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” was
a huge success! |

Ms. Dietz
combines her extensive elementary teaching experience with
individualized instruction to her fifth grade classroom. She
brings a smile and a can-do attitude to each school day. Her
warmth, consistency and patience make each day of fifth
grade a joy to behold! |
Ms. Segura shares
her passion for language and books with students at West
Valley! Students say that Ms. Segura is open, encouraging,
fair, organized and fun. She also helps with our extended
day program! |
When Ms. Jen isn’t
working as a DJ, she is teaching students about her love of
music. Ms. Jen brings fun to our afterschool program by
providing a myriad of new and exciting enrichment
opportunities to West Valley Middle School students. |

Although Mrs. J’s specialty is providing
hands-on history lessons for middle school students, her
real gift is in relating to students and preparing them for
the future. Students say that Mrs. J is compassionate,
funny, thoughtful and a great listener. She also teaches our
High School Prep class! |
Mr. Gomez brings hands on fun
to his science curricula allowing students to visualize each
concept. He is also known for being fair, structured and
consistent. Students really get science in Mr. Gomez’s
class! |
Driven to help her students achieve, Mrs.
Tate uses technology, games, art, various field trips and a
sense of humor to bring mathematics to life. Mrs. Tate also
goes beyond the call of duty by teaching Woodworking and
Yearbook classes! |

After retiring his jersey for
Cal Berkeley Bears and playing professionally for the
Japanese Basketball League, Coach Al Grigsby joined the
staff at West Valley Middle School to provide daily,
high-quality physical education to students from 6th to 8th
grade. |
Coach Darci is
Action Day Primary Plus’ Athletic Director. She also heads
up the Silicon Valley League. Between coordinating games and
events for Fearless Baseball and the Silicon Valley League,
she makes time to teach 5th grade PE and coach Volleyball at
West Valley Middle School. |
Hello, my name is Miranda
Myerholtz. I currently go to San Jose State University,
majoring in hospitality. I have done cheer since the fifth
grade, and am still going strong on the SJSU college cheer
team. Cheer is a huge part of whole I am, and I can't wait
to share it with the girls. |
